Park Construction Planting and Grassing

In constructing the sites of our customers we make use of middle and large size plants. Saplings are container-type, allowing year-round project implementation. It is an important precondition for providing quality services to you. The difference between container-type saplings and nursery-garden planting material with bare root system is considerable. The first allow preserving the integrity of the root ball and taking root is 99%, whereas the second type run the risk of impairing the root and, in most cases, cut a primary root, which would lead to loss of planting material. This is the reason why we make extensive use of container-type saplings limiting the risk and guaranteeing high-quality planting and grassing services.
ERIKA Company is a manufacturer and an importer of saplings and planting material from Italy, Poland and the Netherlands. In importing different plant species, we take into consideration our specific climatic conditions. While constructing a site we evaluate the microclimatic conditions to select appropriate plants. Planting trees, shrubs and flowers is carried out in compliance with a project drawing. It is implemented by specialists with the participation of a landscape engineer. This would guarantee precise and prompt project implementation, as well as allow for a more artistic approach on site.
Sapling planting is carried out by rigorously respective technologies and processes in order to assure the best conditions for taking root.
PLANTING TECHNOLOGY
1. Excavating planting pits larger than the root ball;
2. Adding humus-rich soil mixed with plant-feeding substances and substrates to preserve the moisture in the soil of the planting platform;
3. Laying the root ball, observing the root-graft to be leveled with terrain;
4. Back-filling the planting pit with humus soil, which might be of different pH, depending on the requirements for the respective plant species;
5. Compacting the soil around the plant roots;
6. Forming a ridge of soil around the plant to keep water puddle over roots;
7. Watering the plant profusely.

Upon planting of respective species, grassing the envisaged lawns follows. Appropriate terrain preparation is the most important in order to have a nice level blanket of grass. Grass seeds sowing is performed on leveled soil, by dispersing the seeds and lightly digging them into the soil to approximately 0.5 1 cm. The soil is then compacting to aid the better cohesion of seeds with soil particles. Profuse watering is mandatory for seed germination. It is carried out gently, using a sprinkler. Watering shall be carried out at such intervals, as not to allow drying of the substratum. Once the seeds come up, watering might not be carried out that often. Normally, in summer, watering is done on a daily basis, either early in the morning or late in the evening. We use different grass mixtures to grass a lawn, selecting those according to their habitats and conditions of growing. For terrains that could not be tended for regularly we suggest grass mixtures containing clover, which endures in drier conditions and does not require regular mowing. For representative lawns we make use of high-quality grass mixtures, distinguishing with fine structure and life-span.
